Coffee House and Miriam

XV: Coffeehouse Myriam

30" x 40" - acrylic on paper

I meet a friend in a coffee house, it is safe, nice, predictable. I am comfortable. However, I decide to go to other public places that are everything opposite and unknown. I feel fear, but also excitement, and freedom.

My friend Myriam (who is now dead) comes to me in this dream. She is dressed in a red gown. She tells me that she always had problems with those in the community who wanted to hold to the old traditional conservative ways.
